A yellow kayak, an imagined city horizon and peach light broken across teal water. A brighter direction for a place with a city-facing story.

Austin / Water
The city reflected in water, or the quieter shore beneath the trees.
Explore the studiesThe place behind the picture
The City of Austin describes the Butler Trail as a waterside route connecting city and natural spaces around Lady Bird Lake. Our two studies use that contrast as their starting point: a city-facing composition and a close, tree-lined waterline. Neither claims to document a particular trail stop.
Choose the city-facing study when the memory belongs to Austin as a whole. Choose the quieter waterline when a walk, conversation or gathering by the shore matters more than a recognizable skyline. Your own reference can change the light, framing and details.
