How to Export a Slideshow or Memory as a Video on Mac
To export a slideshow or memory as a video file on a Mac, select it in Photos, click Export, enter a filename, and choose a format such as 1080p or 720p.

To save a slideshow or curated collection as a video on a Mac, you can select your project in the Photos app and use the export menu to generate a playable file (Apple Support).
The Memories feature in Photos creates personalized collections of videos and photos that are set to music and that you can watch like a movie (Apple Support). Each memory features a significant place, person, or event from your photo library (Apple Support).
You can export a memory to share with others, and Photos will create a video file with the format you select (Apple Support). During this process, you can click the Where pop-up menu to choose a save location for the exported memory (Apple Support). You can also click the Orientation pop-up menu to choose a Portrait, Landscape, or Square orientation, and click the Aspect pop-up menu to choose an Original, 4:3, or 16:9 aspect ratio (Apple Support).
Initiating the slideshow export in Mac Photos
You can export slide shows to share with others (Apple Support). First, click a slideshow below Projects in the sidebar (Apple Support). Next, click Export in the toolbar, or choose File, then Export, and finally Export Slide show (Apple Support). When you export a slideshow, Photos creates a video file using the format that you select (Apple Support).
Setting the filename and file type
Enter a filename for your slideshow video in the Save As field (Apple Support). As a practical suggestion, consider including the current year or event name in the filename so the video is easier to identify later. After naming the file, click the Format pop-up menu and choose a file type for the exported video (Apple Support).
Selecting resolution for different screens
When choosing a format, standard definition (480p) is good for standard-definition TV (Apple Support). If the slide show will play on a high-definition TV or display, choose one of the high-definition formats: 720p or 1080p (Apple Support).
