How to Recover a Deleted Voice Memo on iPhone
Open the Voice Memos app and check the Recently Deleted folder. Select a recording and tap Recover before the default 30-day storage period expires.

To recover a deleted family voice memo on your iPhone, retrieve it from the Voice Memos app before the files expire. Deleted recordings move to the Recently Deleted folder, where they are kept for 30 days by default Apple Support.
Locating the Recently Deleted folder
Start by going to the Voice Memos app, which is located in the Utilities folder on your iPhone Apple Support. If you do not see the Recently Deleted folder on the screen, tap the Back button Apple Support.
Recently deleted recordings, along with favorites and Apple Watch recordings, are grouped into Smart Folders that automatically gather files by type and subject matter Apple Support.
Restoring a specific recording
Deleted recordings are temporarily held in the Recently Deleted folder for 30 days by default Apple Support. Tap the Recently Deleted folder, then tap the recording you want to recover or erase Apple Support. To recover the selected recording, tap Recover Apple Support.
Recovering all deleted files at once
If you need to retrieve multiple items quickly, you can recover everything in the Recently Deleted folder. Tap Edit located above the Recently Deleted list, then tap Recover All Apple Support.
Changing the deletion timeframe
You can adjust the expiration rules for your deleted files. To change how long deleted recordings are kept, go to Settings > Apps > Voice Memos > Clear Deleted, then select an option Apple Support. As a practical suggestion, picking a longer timeframe gives you more time to realize a recording was accidentally removed before it disappears permanently.
